Shayla started out as a gymnast at age two and became a dancer by age 12. After 10 years of extensive and highly competitive dance training, her yoga journey began. It started in a hot room with a style called Bikram. In early 2009 she began to take part in Bikram Classes consisting of 26 postures and two breathing exercises, in a room set to 105 degrees for 90 minutes. Shayla began to see very noticeable improvements in the way she felt in her day to day routine, in addition to the benefits she was receiving to increase her dancing ability. "Strengthening of lower back, clearing of skin, increasing flexibility and over all energy are just a few things yoga gives back to you. Yoga also enables me to feel much more explosive as well as elastic and it makes me feel as a dancer and athlete. The more I practice the more I want to practice and the more focused I feel," says Shayla.
All yoga is beneficial for your body, but more importantly your mind, spirit, and awareness. We will generally be doing our yoga classes outside. This helps to create a team environment and energy that breeds acceptance and chemistry for the MADE development program and its players. Shayla strongly believes that yoga brings peace, love, inspiration, meditation and balance into everyone’s lives, and that it is not only beneficial but vital for our MADE players to begin their practice at a young age. She is honored to share her yoga expertise and passion for awareness with the MADE Baseball program. Classes consist of yoga warm-up, flows, poses, and breathing techniques, all focused on helping our team get stronger, more flexible, and injury resistant. Teaching you to stay in the moment, be thankful and accept all things for what they are.

Dominican Don Juan
Juan grew up in the Dominican Republic trying to pattern his swing after that of Manny Ramirez. Since being signed by the Rangers in 2000 at the age of 19, his stroke has held up well as he climbed the farm league ladder. In 03' he stole 45 bases and took advantage of his call up to to the AA level by hitting .348 and crushing two homeruns in his first 11 games. His personal speed, power, and work ethic make him not only a living example for which our players to look up to, but a great teacher from which to learn.
"Having had the pleasure of playing with Juan this year in the Freedom Professional Baseball League has shown me how valuable of an asset he can be to our kids and our program. Juan is a guy that is always smiling and making people feel good. He plays hard and always wants to win, and I know that passion pours out in his coaching for our young players. Matt Elliot - Pitching Instructor
Areas of expertise:

Matt Elliot, aka Coach Elli, was a stand out pitcher when he attended Dixie State Community College in his freshman year post high school. His performance at Dixie earned him the opportunity to be a 22nd draft pick by the Cleveland Indians. He was then immediately traded the Arizona Diamondbacks. Elliot spent his entire minor league affiliated career as an Arizona Diamondbacks farmhand. He has pitched as high as AA and has seen success at all levels he has experienced. His bulldog yet wise mentality on the mound is the reason for his success in frustrating hitters throughout his career. He currently pitches for the Phoenix Prospectors of the Freedom Professional Baseball League where he is team mates of fellow MADE Baseball instructors, Isaac Hess and Juan Senreiso.
"You gotta throw strikes. Thats all there is to it. You don't throw strikes, you don't win. My main goal as a pitching instructor for the MADE Baseball program is to teach our young pitchers to believe in themselves enough to come right at hitters. We are not here to knit pick or mess around with hitters and try to trick them. We are here to be bulldogs and to attack. This fundamental attitude is vital in order to be successful on the mound as you move up the ranks. It has to be there. You have to know you are better than that guy that thought he was allowed to step near YOUR plate." -Elli
